Blacklock - Chop heaven

Food like this is why I love eating so much.

Not for the vegetarians, or those considering it.

Lunchtime is my favourite time. Also the most dangerous time.
At work Frankie and I heard about a brand new chop house called Blacklock in Soho, they aren't officially open yet and as part of their soft launch they are offering half price food until the 14th (errr valentines date? hello?)

Temporary entrance, look even the pigeon wants to go!

I like my menus nice and simple, basically all you have to really decide is what meat you like.
If (like us) you can't then you just go for the all in. Actually just go for the all in anyway.

With the all in you get a starter of your choice, 3 types of chops and 2 sides of your choice. Yum.
To begin we had these blini type crackers, I went for anchovy and egg (unusual but delicious), Frankie had filthy ham because it amused her.

Our main course was a side of Kale and parmesan and a carrot and radish thing that tasted like a bit too much like sambucca to me.

And then there was meat. Oh my, so much, so good.
I think what I liked most about the meat was it was plain (bare with).
This meant you could really taste the quality and flavours, no thick sauces for it to hide behind!

My favourite part about this was the bread under the chops.
I'm not even joking. The rosemary focaccia had soaked up all of the juices from the meat, we were making some questionable faces and noises whilst munching away.

Did I mention it was good?

Like really really good.

Then drinks happened because they were £5 and delicious.
I had the spiked lemonade which was yum. Our waitress Kya warned me that it had Sherry in it (which I've never had before) and I might not like it. But I did, too much. I had to remind myself I had work to go back to, or I could've easily sunk a few more!

Literally, this is what dining is all about. A nice setting, great service and amazing food.
I've already followed them on Twitter and Instagram #MajorFoodPorn
(but not in real life that's creepy)

Just to finish this off Frankie and I had some menu thoughts:
 (in case they read this)

- The bread. THAT bread. Serve that as a side. Please.
- Take a chop, chuck it between two bits of that focaccia. Got yourself an amazing sandwich.
- A boneless option (lots of people at work said they aren't a fan of bones or they would've joined us)

Edit:
I realise I went on a lot about the bread. This meal could easily be adapted to be paleo (just don't eat the bread, honestly the meal was still AHH-mazing without it) I had a slip up. Now back on track!

♥♥♥♥♥

Today, I can't stop thinking about:

That bread... mmmmm
